Welcome to Room 2 2012!!

It was great to see so many of you at the Parents Evening last week, if you missed it I have some spare information booklets in the classroom. We have 10 minute teacher - parent goal setting interviews coming up, students will be bringing home a form for this on Monday if you would like to attend.

Homework:

Each week your child will have maths homework which is run through the maths buddy website, this homework will run Monday - Monday and needs to be completed online. Your child should have come home with a password for this last week. I have additional copies of these if they have been lost! The website for this is www.mathsbuddy.co.nz/

For health this year we are using a new resource called Be Healthy Be Active and this has weekly homework tasks online that relate to the classroom learning. The webpage for this is www.be-healthy-be-active.co.nz/

Spelling will be running on a Wednesday each week starting in Week 3. Your child will be required to learn the new words, which will be in the back of the homework book with a special focus on learning the meanings of words. Each word needs to be written in a sentence or a definition written to show that they understand what it means.

Topic based homework will also come home. Your child should be well on the way with their fundraising for camp (Year 7's) or for our charity (Year 6's).

If there are problems with homework students are encouraged to ask for help before it is due, or if you cannot complete the task please just send in a note or call/email me.
