Values

Opaki School Values

Each Term we have a different Values Focus.  Students work towards following these values both in the classroom and out in the playgrouund. Often the Principals Morning Tea relates to the current Terms focus where students who display these values are selected to attend.

Focus for Term 3 2011 : Friendliness

Respecting Rules
honouring and complying with rules that  are set for the good of everyone.
Good Example  behaving in appropriate ways and being a positive role-model to your peers and friends.
Caring
giving love and attention to people and things.
Consideration  being thoughtful about other people and their feelings.
Self Confidence
having faith in yourself and trusting yourself.
Trustworthiness  deserving the trust other people place in you, so they can count on you.
Fairness    not showing any favouritism, treating people equally.
Forgiveness  giving someone another chance after they have done something wrong,  knowing that everyone makes mistakes.
Friendliness taking an interest in people and going out of your way to make others feel welcome.
Truthfulness  always being honest in your words and in your actions, and not telling lies.
Loyalty  staying true to someone and standing up for people or something you believe in.
Kindness       showing you care and doing some good to make life better for others.
